The Court’s unanimous 9-0 decision — authored by Justice Amy Coney Barrett — held that negligent-hiring claims against transportation brokers are not preempted by the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act, effectively ending the broad liability shield that brokerage companies had relied upon for decades.
